After
opening on a positive note, markets witnessed hectic profit-booking in
most of the sectors in late morning trade, leading to fall in the Sensex
and Nifty by nearly 100 points from their all-time highs ahead of the
the Railway Budget.
"Going to present my maiden budget as a rail minister of India today. Hope we are able to meet public expectations," Gowda said.
Railway-related
stocks fall on profit-taking ahead of the railway budget presentation
later in the day. Shares in the sector have surged on hopes of reforms
including the opening of the sector to foreign investments under the
newly-elected Modi government, traders say.

station, has promised to modernize India's railways and build high-speed
engines befitting Asia's third-largest economy.
